Shoppers have queued for hours as stores reopen for the first time since lockdown.

Today is the first day since the start of lockdown when many retailers have been able to reopen their stores. Businesses have put social distancing measures in place, and shoppers have been urged to wear face coverings when in confined spaces where physical distancing is not possible.

Some shoppers were up early to be at the front of the queue when Primark opened on Princes Street.
